Mary visited me in Philly for the weekend!

We had a wonderful time. In between hitting delish Philly eatries we made some pickled okra and a chilled cream of asparagus soup. We also had time to dye Mary's hair with henna from Lush.

We're here in Long Island for a quick spring break getaway visiting my parents. We spent the day lounging and grabbed an early dinner at Winter Haven Resort. Only two days left on the island...

Here are our Guapos tacos!

Our taco hunt last night was a success! Shilpa joined us at the truck and we got $30 worth of fancy street food. Kevin and I split two orders. We tried the chipotle short rib and the carnitas tacos. We also splurged on some of Garces' amazing guacamole.

The truck was very cool. Its your typical food cart, but it's been completely covered in thousands of beer bottle caps!

Considering how many people were waiting for food, I'd say the staff did a fantastic job. We waited for about 15 minutes total to get our food. My only complaint: if I'm paying $6.50 for guac, I want A LOT of guac.

Guapos taco truck opening night! Yes it's freezing, yes I'm bare legged, but dammit! I'm getting some swanky tacos! Still in line with Kevin but I can't wait! Smells fantastic.

I think I finally figured out how to post from my phone! And it only took 3(ish) hours!!! Yay!

Anyway, this is fabulous coffee from Old City Coffee in Reading Terminal Market. They roast the beans on site so they stay fresh. I always get whole beans and we grind them ourselves. French press coffee is a weekend ritual. We always need a little yuppie caffeine fix before we hit the casebooks!
